Senior Citizens

Just when do you know that you have reached this time in your life? Outside of your age, when does your mind tell you it's your time?
Is it when you're looking for your keys, eye-glasses or just about anything only to realize that you have had them in your hands all along? Or is it the pain you feel making that first move in the morning? Let's say it happens when you have to use your knees only to find out that they are no longer supporting you like they have in the past? Could it be your decision to put all the fast food places on the back burner-Wendy's, Hardee's, Mickey-dees, because they might cause you to have a gas attack when you least expect it? Then again it could be when certain kinds of liquids run through you faster than you can swallow. The list goes on and on.
Now you have more respect for the older people, you know the ones who have been telling you for years that getting old isn't for wimps. Now you're starting to understand what it is they've been telling you.

Oh my God it's my turn!!  Ain't that a trip.

taxes look good before you mail

I did not know that if there is any kind of error done on your taxes from a address change to the wrong dollar amount you will have to file what they call a amendment which could take any where from eight to twelve weeks to get your refund, that was before the new tax laws now you're looking at twelve to sixteen weeks for a refund with the goverment holding on to your money and not giving you a dime of interest.
It is what they refer to as your bad luck.
This just happen to me when I filed my 2010 tax return. My accountant who I paid (and no small change either) made a mistake putting me in this category, you would think she would have offer to refund my money or give me a discount>>something>> no, all she said was "I'm sorry"!  Now here I sit seven weeks later with another eight to nine weeks to go and still no money.
You are aware that if you owe the goverment a dollar to a thousand (it doesn't matter which) they will come after you with a vengeance and the compound interest will be the high light. Hell look what they did to Al Capone, he went around the country murdering countless people and what did they get him for? Messing with the goverment's money.
As for my used-to-be accountant, I'm seriously thinking about picketting her building.

Can your child count?

I was in line at Walgreens the other day and the man in front of me brought a pack of cigarettes which came to 5dollars and 28 cents he gave the cashier a young girl between  the age of 18 and 20  five dollars and thirty five cents, the cash register malfunction just when she was about to give him his change and  from that point on  the poor girl was lost, she didn't have a clue to how much she was suppose to give him. After a couple of minutes the man finally said to her  "you owe me 7 cents".  Is that pitiful or what? When it came to my turn at the counter I asked her if she was still in high school, she said no, she was attending ICC (Illinois Community College) I gave a grunt and left. The system is graduating kids out of high school who can not make change from a dollar bill without a machine. What are they doing to these childrens minds, besides saying let the machine do your thinking for you.

Telemarketers & Customer Service

Are they becoming one of the same? The other day my sister decided she would pay off one of her credit loans, she was 2 months behind on a payment and thought the heck with it I'll just pay it off. Going through customer sevice she inform the lady that this is what she wanted to do, the lady went on to asked how often Linda got paid and why was she late with her payment. "What different does that make I want to pay if off" Linda said. The lady went on with her questions until Linda asked to speak to a supervisor at which time her business was completed. I told Linda the problem was her request was not in the lady script that she memorized.
The next evening on NCIS the program starts off with this telemarketer trying to sale some man a phone service while he's getting murdered in the backgound, the poor man is screaming for help and the telemarketer doesn't miss a beat,  keeps right on reading from his script. I couldn't wait to get Linda on the phone and ask if the program reminded her of anyone.

What are we saying? That if it's not written down it's not happening that we can no longer think on our own?

Back on my job

The Blows of Life

This week I was going write about OUT OF CONTROL CHILDREN and there are a lot of them!  But I have decided to save the children for next week and write about the highs and lows life throws at you.
When those low times hits most of us try to remain strong will and sound minded, which is not an easy task  but it can be done.
Just remember to store everything you feel and see on the highs of life, a warm smile the sound of laughter the enter peace you feel, any and everything that makes you feel good.   Because when life deals you the low blows you'll need all of those good things to draw from to make it to the next day, and with each day that dark light which comes with the low blows gets brighter.  And "poof " like that you're back on top of your game.

Ending the week of March 7th my first Blog

I still get amazed at the different types of people I come in contact with in a 24 hour period, some are rude,arrogant and down right nasty. Yet you can find others that are kind considerate and will go out of their way to help you, I will always be apart of this group. Not knowing who or what you might need in your life time it is best to do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
